The Electric Swing Circus is a live 6-piece fusion of classy 20’s swing and stomping electro beats. Drawing influence from 1920’s swing and jazz, the explosive sound of the Electric Swing Circus reverberates back through time, re-inventing the genre of electro-swing for an ever expanding, multi-generational audience.

The ESC’s sound is an exciting combination of vintage samples, gypsy-jazz guitar, electric double bass, keys, live drums, dirty synths and electro beats. Fronted by a powerful female double-act, with extensive variety of vocal styles, the ESC delivers a consistently dazzling show.

The band are active in the electro-swing scene, running their own annual festival, Swingamajig, and regular club night, Hot Club de Swing, as well as curating acts for events and stages across Europe.

The band first formed in 2011, and have since toured 4 continents, playing major festivals and headline shows all over the world. They’ve released two genre defining albums on Ragtime Records: ‘Electric Swing Circus’ and ‘It Flew By’.

Ladies and Gentlemen, hold onto your hats. The circus is coming to town!

Siobhan McruddenSUPPORT – Siobhan McCrudden

Siobhan McCrudden’s voice has been described as ‘fragile, pure and hugely distinctive’. Siobhan crafts songs of intensity and sweetness, recounting personal stories whilst reflecting a vivid fascination with dark folk tales and superstitions. The result is a hauntingly nostalgic and elemental set of alluring narratives and exquisitely melancholic songs that defy any one particular genre and entrance the listener through their spell- binding beauty.
Siobhan’s early performances found her on the coffee house circuit of New York. From these beginnings she went on to play larger gigs both in America and at home, performing at festivals and folk clubs. Siobhan has had radio play of her songs on Cardiff Radio and on BBC Wales through BBC Introducing’s Adam Walton.
‘Icarus Girl’ her new album is carefully arranged and produced by acclaimed art-rock musician GRICE who has infused the songs with his subtle yet distinctive instrumentation. These shades magnificently showcase her haunted, folk-noir sound. A select few musical contributors complete the blend bringing an understated warmth and intricacy to the album. The result is something beautifully incandescent and timeless.
